Pro a canoe is a big open kayak or canoe. She has long open cockpit, so she is meant to be used in sheltered waters. She can carry two adults + one to three small kids. Max total load is ca 300kg including boat weight - around 30-35 kg ( 66- 77 lbs ) depending of materials used and builder.
Boat is built as two parts. Break point is determined by length of two ply sheets. Stern part is fastened with bolts over waterline. The stern part can also be attached to the side for trolling motor or max 2hp outboard. This sidecar option makes very stable platform for fishing etc. There are also plans for small outriggers ( foam ). Those are for safety when kids are onboard.
We have made several overnight trips with three small kids and it can take tons of gear. --
